Today I’ve successfully posted every day for a week!  Small victories are cool.

This morning I had a meeting with the lady in charge of the church babysitting program I’m going to be working for.  It just lasted 30 minutes or so while she showed me around and explained the schedule.  It’s only a couple of hours a week, but it’s still nice to be making a little money!

After the meeting I decided to go to chapel early so I could get a seat near the door, since I had a 12:00 class afterwards and couldn’t afford to wait in the lunch line for 30 minutes.  I think I might just need to get a chapel excuse for Tuesdays.

Then I had my second art class, which is called “Elements of Visual Thinking”.  There are 3 professors co-teaching the class, and they managed to do a 2-hour introduction without actually explaining what specifically we are going to be doing in this class.  From what I could pick up, it’s like THE creativity class or something.  So I’m excited about that!

During the intro to the class, one of the professors was wanting some feedback/interaction from the students and wasn’t getting much.  2 other girls and I finally said something, and then he made us go stand in front of the class so they could clap for us.  He also said “Boys, take a good look!  You want to date these girls.”   It was pretty funny, especially since I had heard before that this professor likes to try to get you married off.  I just didn’t realize that the person who told me that was quite so serious!

My second & last class of the day was my 3rd bible class for this semester, and we just did a short intro section and looked over the syllabus.  The class is about preparing bible class lesson plans for elementary ages, so that should be interesting.

Since I only had those 2 classes, I was able to make a run to Hobby Lobby and get some art supplies.  That place is seriously so cool!  I always want to buy like EVERYTHING.  I ended up getting a cool looking sketchbook with a leather cover even though I already have a sketchbook with space, because I figured that if I’m going to be an art student, I might as well have a cool sketchbook.  My drawing professor instructed us all to draw something on the first page but said he didn’t care what, so I did this:

I was pretty happy with the way it turned out!  I got Prismacolor pencils for Christmas that I’ve been trying out since I haven’t really worked in color before.  It’s turning out to be a lot of fun!

Well, now I’m planning on working out and then going to bed fairly early.  I’m not allowed to run until February because of my ankle surgery, but I think the elliptical should be fine since it’s no-impact.  Now hopefully we won’t have the fire drill tonight…
